Claire Shearer Humanist Celebrant

I’m Claire, a Northern Ireland native and Humanist Wedding Celebrant. 

Having been an English teacher for 16 years, I have a true passion for words and stories. I also love to meet people, learn about their lives, and (weirdly) I feel very at home speaking in front of large groups of people!

It was the combination of these things that inspired me to train to become a Humanist Celebrant. Having had my own Humanist wedding ceremony, I knew how special it was to be able to share the story of my relationship with someone and watch them weave it into a beautiful ceremony to be shared with our loved ones on our wedding day. There were tears of laughter and tears of joy – it was perfect, and I knew I wanted to create that same feeling for other couples. 

Stories have bonded us together since the beginning of time, being passed down from generation to generation and documenting the most important moments in our lives.
