Supporting our local wedding industry since 2019.

Initially beginning as a bridal inspiration page when planning our own wedding, we quickly found a passion to help as many suppliers, venues and couples as we can.

Our mission

Back when we were in the midst of planning our own, I thought it would be fun to share our progress with friends on social media. But Rebecca felt underwhelmed by the whole process and realised something was missing. Now, The NI Wedding Directory is making wedding planning more modern, more accessible, and a whole lot more joyful for couples across Northern Ireland.

"So many couples are feeling the pressure, the rising costs, the Pinterest-perfect expectations, the social media comparisons," says Rebecca."I wanted to bring the excitement back. To make the planning process feel less like a stress spiral and more like the celebration it's meant to be."

We learned from experience the common pitfalls and stressors that come with planning your big day, and felt there was huge potential in devising a platform to help others to navigate what can (and should) be an exciting time in your relationship.

What began as a personal Instagram page sharing her own planning journey quickly blossomed into a much-needed hub for modern couples.

In January 2023, Bridal Bird rebranded as The NI Wedding Directory, and just two months later hosted her first networking event, a relaxed, stylish event that brought together suppliers in a pressure-free setting.

Rebecca and her husband Sam, has turned their full-time attention to running events and building a growing online presence.

"It's all about making things easier," she says. "Our fairs offer couples the chance to explore stunning venues that aren't usually open to the public, meet suppliers in person, and get genuine advice without the pressure. We want to take the overwhelm out of it."

Rebecca has a strong background in marketing, which is crucial for promoting local wedding businesses and helping suppliers and venues stand out, and Sam brings nearly a decade of experience in software engineering, meaning all of our development is handled in-house.

What sets this apart from other companies is its local focus and knowledge of the NI wedding market.

Existing companies in the UK mainland list some NI vendors, but we can fully appreciate and understand the unique wedding landscape here. We take pride in knowing and having relationships with local businesses and trying to help them succeed.

We push the boundaries of how couples connect with local businesses, offering an intuitive layout, powerful search capabilities, exclusive offers and a news outlet packed with helpful information.

Searching supplier and venue websites individually can be time consuming and inconsistent. Every site looks and feels differ-ent, and information isn't always easy to find.

Our platform provides a consistent, easy-to-navigate layout for every supplier and venue, making it simple for couples to find key information quickly and efficiently. It's a huge time-saver and helps them feel much more in control of their planning.

We are committed to building strong relationships with local business and supporting our couples, suppliers and venues every step of the way.

We aim to be the first place couples think of when they get engaged, and we'll continue hosting The NI Wedding Fair at stunning local venues, with bookings already confirmed two years in advance.

We want to shout about the massive potential that exists on our doorsteps for elegant, hassle-free weddings that people will remember for years to come.

"We’re so proud to be part of this industry and to shine a light on the incredible local wedding vendors who bring so much to such a special day in peoples’ lives."
