I’m Caroline McAlister, a qualified FuturFaith celebrant based in Larne, County Antrim. I am registered to conduct legally binding marriages in Northern Ireland and Ireland. Having photographed weddings since 2013, I also understand how wedding days really flow, from timings and family dynamics to calming nerves, making sure wedding dresses are sitting properly and working smoothly with venues and suppliers.
My approach is simple: a ceremony that fits you, even if you do not fit neatly into a box.
FuturFaith represents an inclusive approach that embraces and respects all faiths, mixed faiths, semi faith and no faith. Whether you want a completely non religious ceremony, are considering a humanist wedding or would like religious or spiritual elements included, we can create something that reflects your beliefs, values and relationship. All couples are warmly welcomed.
Your ceremony should not sound as though your names have simply been added to a template. I take time to get to know you, learning how you met, what makes you laugh, what you have faced together and what makes your relationship yours. I then weave those details into a ceremony created in collaboration with you.
It can be romantic, relaxed, emotional, funny or a mixture of everything. You might choose to include personal vows, readings, music, family traditions or symbolic elements such as handfasting, candle lighting, a quaich or a sand ceremony. Nothing is included simply because weddings are expected to have it.
I will guide you clearly through the process, including the legal requirements, ceremony choices and writing personal vows if you choose to have them. You receive your ceremony script before the wedding, giving you the opportunity to make changes and ensure it feels completely right.
On the day, I want you to feel calm, supported and able to be fully present. I will invite you to take a breath, look around and absorb the moment before we begin a ceremony centred on your words, your promises and the life you are building together.

If you're dreaming of an outdoor ceremony surrounded by nature, I’ll work with you to make sure we keep that beauty untouched – including gently suggesting confetti be saved for your reception venue instead. I’ve gone as paperless as possible in my business: all contracts, questionnaires, and ceremony drafts are handled online to reduce waste. At wedding fairs, I don’t hand out flyers – instead, I’ll take your details and pop you a wee email with everything you need. At home, we're passionate recyclers and solar energy users – doing our bit to tread lightly on the planet while creating meaningful, modern ceremonies that reflect your values too.

If you're worried about reading your personal vows in front of your family friends, don't worry...I've got your back. I was one of those brides so I totally get it. There are a few different options that allow you to have that special moment with your other half without lots of people watching & listening.
You could do what we did, and read your personal vows during a private "first look". You could write each other a love letter with your vows and exchange on your wedding morning. Your photographer can capture the emotions of you reading your other half's vows to you. Or you could choose to read them to each other later in the day. I love when I am also the photographer on the day and I get to capture the moment a couple read their vows to each other privately during their photo shoot.
